The Software and Information Industry Association (SIIA) submitted a letter to the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation expressing strong support for the nomination of Paul Dabbar as Deputy Secretary of Commerce. Drawing on his public- and private-sector leadership, SIIA emphasized that Mr. Dabbar is uniquely qualified to guide the Department’s work on critical issues like artificial intelligence, digital trade, intellectual property, and cross-border data flows.
The letter highlights Mr. Dabbar’s prior role as Under Secretary for Science at the Department of Energy and his private-sector experience in finance and quantum technology as evidence of his deep understanding of the innovation lifecycle.
