The Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) is pleased to be a signatory of ‘Our Pledge to America’s Youth – Investing in AI Education.’ Education is a key component to the future of America’s leadership in artificial intelligence and we thank the White House and SIIA members who are helping to lead the way.
As part of the pledge, signatories were asked to make public commitments. SIIA is committing to work with our members to develop best practices on transparency disclosures for AI tools used in the classroom. These best practices will help companies communicate to the K-12 community, parents, and students about AI’s use in school environments and equip them to responsibly use it. SIIA has consistently advocated for effective communication and transparency about AI tools, which is the foundation of the Education Technology Industry’s Principles for the Future of AI in Education that launched in 2023.
We are pleased to announce the formation of a new working group of our member companies that will develop best practices over the course of the next several months. We are also asking the education community to provide input to the working group so we can better understand the need for transparency disclosures for AI tools used in the classroom.
