SIIA Submits Comments on the California Privacy Protection Agency’s (CPPA) Draft Regulations

The Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) has submitted comments on the California Privacy Protection Agency’s (CPPA) draft regulations, emphasizing the need for balanced data privacy standards that protect consumers while ensuring practical business compliance. While SIIA supports the goals of the regulations, certain overly prescriptive provisions could unintentionally weaken consumer protections and create compliance challenges for businesses acting in good faith.

In this submission, SIIA highlights these concerns and offers specific recommendations to better align the regulations with their intended purpose—enhancing consumer privacy without imposing unnecessary burdens.
