The Software and Information Industry Association (SIIA) has submitted a letter to the House Subcommittee on the Administrative State, Regulatory Reform, and Antitrust, providing insights on the evolving landscape of artificial intelligence (AI) innovation and competition. The letter, included in the official record of the Subcommittee’s April 2 hearing, highlights the dynamic and competitive nature of the AI market, emphasizing the rapid technological advancements and increasing number of firms developing AI-powered tools.
SIIA urges policymakers to take a thoughtful, evidence-based approach to AI regulation, cautioning against heavy-handed interventions that could stifle innovation and unintentionally benefit only a select few companies. With AI playing a critical role in national and economic security, the letter advocates for policies that foster U.S. leadership in AI while ensuring a competitive and innovative marketplace.
