Senior Policy Analyst, Government Affairs and Regulatory Strategy, Bloomberg

Joe Alicata is the Senior Policy Analyst for Government Affairs and Regulatory Strategy at Bloomberg LP. Joe also serves as the Americas AI Policy Lead and the Regional Lead for Latin America.

In this role, Joe leads on AI regulatory issues across the Americas (US, Mexico, Canada, and South/Central America) within Bloomberg’s US Government Relations and Regulatory Affairs team. This includes research, issue/legislative/regulatory tracking, strategy development, and advocacy.

Joe joined Bloomberg in October of 2021 after serving in the administration of New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo where he oversaw the research and vetting operation in the Executive Office at the New York State Department of Financial Services.

In addition to working on AI, his policy portfolio covers a broad range of topics, including traditional market structure issues, digital assets, bank capital rules, employment law, New York City and New York State policy.

Joe completed his bachelor’s degree in public policy at the University at Albany, State University of New York, and his master’s degree in political management at The George Washington University in Washington DC.
