Equities and Derivatives Business Owner, NUAM

Nicolás Sánchez A. is the Equity and Derivatives Business Owner at nuam exchange, where he promotes strategic initiatives to strengthen capital markets across the region and works closely with key stakeholders to enhance liquidity, accessibility, and market expansion.

Prior to joining nuam, he was Director of Equity Markets at the Colombian Stock Exchange (BVC), where he spent over a decade playing a key role in product development, regulatory engagement, and the attraction of new issuers and investors—both local and international. His work has included the development and promotion of equity instruments, ETFs, securities lending and market-making schemes, trading and post-trade enhancements, and cross-border initiatives in Latin America.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance and International Affairs from Universidad Externado de Colombia, a master’s degree in Finance and an MBA from Universidad de los Andes; as well as executive education credentials in Global Political Economy from the London School of Economics, and Advanced Valuation from NYU Stern School of Business.

In parallel to his corporate career, he actively promotes financial education by teaching capital markets and investment strategies at leading universities and institutions across Colombia
