Jo Rabin

Head of Technology, Innovation UKI, Deutsche Bank

Jo leads various transformation projects within Deutsche Bank from within the Innovation team. He is a software engineer with a degree in Computer Science and Mathematics and is a Chartered Engineer. Starting in the corporate world, he led the development of the Reuters Forex Trading product (USD 2Tn/day) and invented the international standard for news, NewsML. Based in California in the late ‘90s to understand the start-up scene he worked on various large scale transformation initiatives. Back in the UK he headed Reuters efforts in mobile, however, infected by the start-up bug he then spent some years being a start-up founder, CTO, advisor and CTO-in-Residence at Telefonica’s accelerator, Wayra. He founded industry forum Mobile Monday London, co-created The Mobile Academy with UCL. Currently co-chair of W3C the Market Data Rights Automation Community Group, he previously chaired three W3C mobile related working groups and wrote a dozen W3C notes and standards.
