Ryan Sweet

Senior Director – Economic Research, Moody’s Analytics 

Ryan Sweet is director of real-time economics at Moody’s Analytics. He is also editor-in-chief of Economic View, to which he regularly contributes, and a member of the U.S. macroeconomics team in West Chester PA. His areas of specialization include U.S. macro, monetary policy, and forecasting high-frequency economic indicators. He is among the most accurate high-frequency forecasters of the U.S. economy, according to MarketWatch and Bloomberg.

Mr. Sweet is editor-in-chief of and a regular contributor to Economic View, where his analysis of global economic and financial market developments is posted throughout the business day. His research interests include macroeconomics, monetary policy, labor markets and financial markets.

Mr. Sweet gives regular talks on the U.S. and global economic outlook and is frequently cited in international, national, and regional media outlets. He has appeared on MSNBC, Fox Business, Bloomberg TV and Nightly Business Report and various other national networks and news programs. He has also appeared on Bloomberg radio, WSJ radio and public radio’s Marketplace.

Mr. Sweet is also an adjunct professor in the Economics and Finance Department at West Chester University of Pennsylvania and was recognized by the Honors College as an outstanding faculty member.

He received his master’s degree in economics from the University of Delaware and his bachelor’s degree in economics from Washington College.
