Managing Director & Group COO, Global Financial Markets, DBS Bank

In his current role as COO of DBS Global Financial Markets, Sam is globally responsible for all Business Management matters. His reporting mandate covers the following teams: Trading & Sales Desk Support/Middle Office, First line Operational Risk, Project Management, Vendor & Data Mgmt, Business Strategy Planning & New Products/initiatives. He also chairs various regulatory committees including playing an active role as Director of T&M’s fund management businesses and is a member of the GFM Executive Committee.

Sam has 28 years of experience in Global Markets roles across Lehman Brothers, Merrill Lynch and Citi where he worked in FX derivatives trading and lead regional sales team in Custody/Securities Services along with managing risk and middle office teams in FICC. Sam also ran a management consulting company in the region focusing on helping Asian banks, central banks and buy side companies build FICC, custody, Sec Lending, collateral management desks and prime businesses along with undertaking tech & digital transformation.
