3 Way Conversation - Contract Clarity: Crystal Clear or Clear as Mud!

There are still consumer firms that struggle with understanding of the do’s & dont’s and vague language of market data contracts. Consumers want to ensure they stay on the right side of data compliance and have a clear picture of licensing rights that is on the same page of understanding as the data vendors/exchanges themselves. How can we bridge the gap, is it just a commercial reason, as that is sometimes the perception for which is damaging to the relationships? Is it just our industry and can we learn from other sectors the better ways? This 3 way conversation will debate what is, what could be and who is doing it right.

Thought Leadership Presentation: Crypto Disruptor to the Market Data Playing Field

Whether a fad or long term Alternative Investment, its clear this is an exciting and pioneer space that has many peoples curiosity. What’s not obviously considered however, is that it could threaten to break the mould to the traditional data providers and platforms. With just a small fraction of the worlds wealth playing in this market today, what would be the impact to the market data industry as it grows and how is data sourced today versus the future interest of traditional data sourcing platforms for this investment segment.

Thought Leadership - The Art of the Possible

The market data industry is ripe for innovation. The growing use of data and diversity of use cases, cloud models and apps have stretched commercial business models and the processes that support them. What can the industry be doing to improve, innovate and add more true value for each other? We will explore some of the ways the business of market data is changing and how it might evolve in the future to better support an increasingly diverse ecosystem.

Panel Discussion - Inertia vs. Innovation

A discussion to question, challenge, and debate as to how we achieve collective innovation; recognizing the inertia that often blocks such innovation. How best to promote industry education and generate investment to create products that better serve our needs. Not forgetting improving overall administration and making effective use of (new) technologies. Finally, how we can collaborate on common approaches (dare we mention standards) and reduce, or even ideally eradicate ambiguity.

Fireside Chat - EU Consolidated Tape Update

The EU Commission unveiled their capital markets plan on the 25th November which delved deeper into the plan for a Consolidated Tape. Some Exchanges will benefit from the introduction whilst others feel they will miss out. There are differing opinions on whether the plans are thorough or disadvantage some areas of trading and how will this all impact the investors. What are the pro's and con's, who are the winners here, will it really reduce costs as ESMA will seek 'reasonable' commercial fees for the service. Are we clear yet when the CT will launch, still work to do it seems.
