Washington, DC (October 20, 2022) The Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) announces winners of the inaugural SIIA IMPACT Awards, a new program honoring outstanding leadership in the publishing industry, specifically championing Emerging Talent and Equity.
The SIIA IMPACT Awards are an extension of SIIA’s continuing commitment to support members in achieving better outcomes in diversity, equity and inclusion and to spotlight and develop outstanding young professionals across the publishing industry. Ten awards will be presented across seven categories, honoring emerging talent as well as individual and teams championing DEI in the publishing industry. A celebratory winners luncheon will take place on November 15 in Washington, DC.
The 2022 class of SIIA IMPACT winners includes:
Emerging Talent recognizes those aged 35 and under who have 3+ years of service to the industry and have demonstrated outstanding success and leadership potential. The winners are:
Equity Awards recognize individuals and teams demonstrating significant progress and identifiable achievement toward efforts related to advancing diversity, equity and inclusion. The winners are:

Washington, DC: FISD, the global forum of choice connecting the financial information industry is announcing this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award recipient. This prestigious award celebrates the people who have contributed to the major developments and accomplishments across the financial information industry for more than 25 years. The Lifetime Achievement Award winner was announced during the 15th biennial World Financial Information Conference (WFIC). WFIC is the only global event focusing on the sourcing, compliance and delivery of financial information and brings together more than 500 industry peers from 40 countries. This year’s conference in Prague is running from October 16-19, 2022.
“We are thrilled to announce Debra Walton is this year’s FISD Lifetime Achievement Award winner,” said FISD President Tom Davin, “Debra’s impressive career working across the executive leadership team at Refinitiv, Thomson Reuters, and Thomson Financial culminated when she negotiated Refinitiv’s sale to the London Stock Exchange Group. A trailblazer for women, Debra has worked tirelessly on the advancement of women through her volunteering with YWCA of New York City, the Women’s Bond Club and the Women’s Refugee Commission and Springboard.”

Debra Walton said that winning the Lifetime Achievement Award was a huge honor and joked that it was frightening she had spent more than half of her life working in the industry.
“I’ve been blessed to work for great companies, with great colleagues, and to serve great customers and I have industry colleagues I now call dear friends in the 85 countries I have had the privilege of visiting. Many of you are here tonight and you have my heartfelt thanks and appreciation,” said Walton.
Walton said the secret her success was “the ABCs” and gave thoughtful remarks encouraging the audience to be “authentic,” to always “believe in yourself,” and to remain “curious” throughout their career.
This year’s nominees included Citi Global Head of Market Data Compliance and Exchanges Patti Sachs and long-time member of the FISD Executive Committee and former Head of Information, Market Data + Services at Deutsche Börse AG Georg Gross. FISD’s Lifetime Achievement Award is sponsored by Barchart and Bloomberg.
